The renewal comes from a successful first agreement in South Africa with our representative in South Africa, Worldwide Information Services agency (WWIS), being influential in helping us establish our connection.

May 2026 – The Company of Biologists renews Read & Publish agreement with EIFL for a further three years
The Company of Biologists is delighted to confirm the renewal of our Read & Publish Open Access agreement with Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL) from 2027 to 2029.
Corresponding authors based in 33 developing and transition economy countries will continue to be able to publish an unlimited number of Open Access research articles without paying article processing charges (APCs).

ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and The Company of Biologists have announced a new Journal Home partnership covering our complete portfolio of peer-reviewed journals across all areas of biology. The partnership also includes the addition of the powerful Open Access Agreement Upgrade (OAAU) from launch.
April 2026 – The Company of Biologists joins GetFTR to support discovery and access to trusted biological research
We are pleased to announce that we have joined GetFTR (Get Full Text Research) working to connect research discovery directly to trusted full text.
Through this partnership, our content will be more easily discoverable and accessible across an expanding network of research and discovery tools, including those directly integrated with GetFTR, such as Scopus, Scite, Web of Science and CAS Biofinder, and across the whole web via the GetFTR Browser Extension.
April 2026 – The Company of Biologists appoints iGroup Malaysia – Access Dunia Sdn Bhd as exclusive agent for library and institutional sales in Malaysia

March 2026 – The Company of Biologists launches comprehensive journal archive
The Company of Biologists is pleased to announce the launch of our fully accessible journal archive, providing institutions with perpetual access to more than 34,000 articles published between 1853 and 2004.
The archive includes our three established journals: Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology. Collectively, our journals represent over a century of pioneering research in developmental biology, cell biology, comparative physiology and biomechanics, including work from more than 60 Nobel Prize-winning researchers.
