We believe in the power of Open Access. Thanks to the Read & Publish agreement between The Company of Biologists and the University of Regensburg, we were able to publish our work without additional fees. This was especially important to us, as our research was conducted without third-party funding. We hope other publishers follow this example to help reduce inequalities in academic publishing and ensure that the focus remains on scientific rigor.
