Read & Publish agreement with IReL

Following the success of our previous partnerships, we are delighted to have signed a new Read & Publish Open Access agreement with IReL. The five journal agreement will run from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028.

Researchers at participating institutions benefit from:

• The ability to publish an uncapped number of research articles immediately Open Access (OA) in our transformative journals (Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology) and our fully Open Access journals (Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open) without paying an article processing charge (APC).
• Unlimited access to our transformative journals, including their full archives dating back to 1853.

The following institutions in Ireland are participating in the agreement:

• Dublin City University
• Maynooth University
• Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
• Technological University Dublin
• Trinity College Dublin
• University College Cork
• University College Dublin
• University of Galway
• University of Limerick
