The overall experience of publishing with The Company of Biologists was extremely good. The speed and quality of the reviews was exceptional and the communication with the editor was second to none. To learn that our work could be published fee-free Open Access under our Read & Publish agreement with the University of Leeds was very welcome and added further clarity as to why Biology Open is becoming a journal of choice in my field.
