Publishing our article fee-free Open Access in the Journal of Experimental Biology under the Read & Publish agreement with the University of Graz was remarkably straightforward. The process for authors was made extremely simple, requiring almost no administrative effort on our part, and the institutional agreement ensured that we did not have to cover any Open Access publication charges ourselves. This practical arrangement greatly helped to make our research immediately and freely available to the scientific community.
