We are delighted to welcome Shelly Turner to the new role of Head of Sales and Business Development at The Company of Biologists.

She will lead an expanded sales, customer services and library marketing team to build on the success of the Company’s Read & Publish Open Access (OA) initiative.

Shelly Turner says:

“I am very pleased to be joining The Company of Biologists at such an exciting time. Over 500 institutions in 39 countries are already participating in the Company’s Read & Publish Open Access initiative, and I look forward to working with libraries and library consortia in all parts of the world to enable a broader range of biologists to benefit from uncapped and fee-free OA publishing in our leading journals.”
Katie Ward, Commercial Finance Manager at The Company of Biologists, says:
“As a not-for-profit publisher dedicated to inspiring biology, we have a long-standing commitment to Open Access and a track record of innovation. Our Read & Publish OA initiative continues to go from strength to strength and we are delighted that Shelly has joined us in the newly created role of Head of Sales and Business Development. She has the skills, experience and enthusiasm to take the initiative to the next level, thereby helping us to continue to meet our Transformative Journal targets for OA growth.”
About The Company of Biologists

The Company of Biologists is a not-for-profit publishing organisation dedicated to supporting and inspiring the biological community. We partner with libraries and library consortia to enable biologists worldwide to access our leading peer-reviewed hybrid journals – Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology.

We have been committed to Open Access (OA) for over 17 years. We publish two fully OA journals – Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open. Our hybrid journals were the first in the world to be afforded Transformative Journal status by Plan S and over 500 institutions in more than 30 countries are now participating in our cost-neutral Read & Publish OA initiative. We also have Read & Publish agreements with nine library consortia and an international library organisation.
