I was delighted when my Ph.D student informed me that we could publish our study on the role of metamorphosis on initiation of regeneration success free of publication fees as an Open Access article. Development is a highly regarded journal in my field and I have published there over the years as a graduate student, postdoc and with my graduate students. I am grateful to the University of Florida for entering into a Read & Publish agreement with The Company of Biologists, providing Open Access to a broad global audience and facilitating communication in science.
