The Company of Biologists is founded to save the British Journal of Experimental Biology (BJEB) and protect its future.

Marine biologist George Parker Bidder III becomes the Managing Director of The Company of Biologists.

Partnership between the Company and the SEB is first established.

Ownership of the Quarterly Journal of Microscopical Science (QJMS) is transferred to The Company of Biologists.

The Company starts providing support to the BSCB and the BSDB.

The first Travelling Fellowships are launched.

The Company’s Sustainable Conferencing Initiative (now known as the Sustainability Initiative) is launched.

The first Read & Publish agreements come into effect.
