Editorial Administrator

The Company of Biologists is looking to recruit an Editorial Administrator to work across our portfolio of five life-science journals, with a particular focus on Journal of Cell Science.
Reporting to the Executive Editor of Journal of Cell Science, you will be responsible for the administration of the journal peer-review system and are required to ensure that the journal administrative procedures are as efficient as possible and meet the needs of authors, referees and editors.
The main day-to-day tasks will be the receipt of manuscripts and progressing them through peer review using a manuscript tracking system, Editorial Manager. General administration will include providing help and rapid response to authors, referees and editors, efficient and rapid record keeping using the database, sending out proofs to authors, ensuring all accepted manuscripts and relevant files are passed on to appropriate departments in a timely manner, filing, archiving and prioritization of workload. Marketing Administrator

We are currently recruiting for a Marketing Administrator role to help our marketing team promote the Company, its journals and its charitable activities. We publish five important journals and host three community websites that serve the wider biological research community. All have effective marketing and a good social media presence.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player to support us with a wide set of marketing activities. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team and get involved in a variety of projects. As part of the marketing team you will engage with many other colleagues, including editorial teams, production and events. Please see the full role description for further details.
